Initial Setup...

Use the analog i n p u t connect i o n s to switch component

video / composite vi d e o / analog aud i o o r any combination

of the above signals to the HDV I 5 ’s analo g o u tput connec-

tors. Us e t h e digital audio conn e c tors to switch di gita l a u -

dio signals, with automatic conversion bet ween t h e o ptical

and coax digital aud i o for m a t s.

If usi n g a hardwire d IR contro ller to operate the HDVI5,

connect t h e cont ro l ler IR cable to t h e IR / Z-IN j a c k .

If usi n g a PC (or other s e rial controller), connec t it to the

RS-232 po r t u s ing a standard ser i a l cable.

Plug the power module into the HD V I 5 , and plug th e m od-

ule into a standard A.C. wal l receptac l e. The standby LED

will light up.

Selecting an Input...

To s w i t c h b etween any of the five input s, simp l y pre s s the

button fo r the desired input . I f the H D V I 5 is in the st a n d by,

it will tur n o n. The H D V I 5 will then s w i tc h to t h e selec te d

input, and th e a ssociated LED will l i g h t to indicate this.

To p l a c e t h e HDVI5 back i n to t h e s tandby mode, press and

re l e ase the Power Toggle b u t to n. The c h a n n el LEDs will a l l

go blank , and the standby LED wi l l l i ght up. Pre s s t h e Powe r

Togg l e button again to re -selec t the previously s e l ected

input.

Audio / Video Breakaway...

To b reak away the audio or v i d eo (to listen to the aud i o

fro m one input w h i l e view the vid e o fro m another), press

the SEL key. When both th e R E D and BLUE LEDs a b ove the

SEL button are lit, the n t he audio and v i d eo inputs wil l b e

switched simulta n e o u sly. When o n l y the RED LED i s lit, then

only the Audio will b e s witch. Similar l y, w h e n only the BLUE

LED is lit, o n l y the video wi l l be switched when p ressi n g a n

input button.

Note: Au d io breakaway onl y a pplies to the di g i t a l audio con-

nec t i o ns on the bac k o f the HDVI5. You cannot break-

away the HDMI a u d io channel th at is s e nt over the H D M I

cable. HDMI audio wi l l a lways follow the video si g n a l.
